Campaigns and sequences

01The steps

Open Agent, then Campaign. The top line says how many steps and over how many days. A new LinkedIn agent starts with:

1. Connection invite with no note. No note is the default: plain invites are accepted more often, and a non-premium account can't attach one anyway.
2. Icebreaker, the day after they accept. One idea, then stop.
3. Follow-up, a few days later. It may not repeat the icebreaker.
4. Closing message. It asks for nothing.

A sequence can hold up to eight steps (messages, profile visits and emails). In the app you choose how each step is written; adding steps or changing their words is done from a connected assistant, while the campaign is paused (see Claude, ChatGPT and MCP).

02How each step is written

Pick a step, then choose how it's written, under the preview:

• Written by AI: a message for each person, from the reason they were found and your brief.
• Template: the step's words as shown. Plain text goes as it is; an ember slot is the sentence the writer fills in per person, each with its own word limit.
• Fixed text: the step's words sent as they are, the same for everyone.

A step that won't render is refused when it's saved, and says why.

03The preview

Beside the steps, the preview shows the chosen step written for one of your real leads, by the same writer that sends, with its word count against the limit. Until the agent has found someone, it waits for a real lead instead of making one up.

04When each step goes

Delays count from the previous send. The icebreaker counts from the moment they accept, not from when you sent the invitation. Everything goes out inside the account's sending window: see Senders and safety.

05What stops a sequence

A reply stops everything after it, and anything queued to that person is cancelled. So does a company or domain on your block list (Contacts, then Block list). See When a lead replies.
