In short
- A signal is something the agent watches for: people engaging with a topic, a competitor, an expert, your brand, or a buying event.
- Each agent runs one signal every few hours, taking them in turn. Everyone a signal finds is checked against your buyer before they become a lead.
- An agent takes at least four signals and up to fifteen. Edit them on the agent's Sources tab.
01The kinds of signal
Open Agent, then Sources, then Edit signals. The editor groups them like this:
- Keyword engagement: people engaging with posts on topics related to what you sell. Generate with AI suggests keywords from your brief.
- People engaging with your market: paste an expert's LinkedIn profile, and the agent watches who engages with their posts.
- Companies & competitors engagement: people interacting with a competitor's company page. Type the name, then pick the right company.
- People aware of your brand: people reacting to what you post, and people who start following you.
- People like your best customers: paste a customer's LinkedIn profile, and the agent finds people in the same seat.
- Buying events: four boxes to tick: the top 5% most active profiles in your buyer, companies that raised money recently, recent job changes (under 90 days), and hiring momentum.
- Companies using a tool: pick a tool. A company shows up when its job posts name the tool, or when the tool is visible on its website.
02How often they run
Each agent runs one signal at a time, every few hours, taking them in turn: the Sources tab says how often, in hours. A paused signal takes no turn. To run one now instead of waiting, press Run now on its row.
Engagement signals read the most-engaged recent posts, and posts older than two weeks are left alone, because their audience has moved on.
03What each row tells you
Every signal on Sources says in one line how it's doing, so you know what to change:
- "Quiet, not broken": it ran and found nobody new this cycle.
- "None held a title you asked for": people were found, but none matched your buyer's roles. Widen the buyer opens the buyer editor.
- "A wide audience with a thin match": a sharper signal would help more than a wider buyer.
- "Paused after eight runs that found nobody": turn it back on any time, or replace it.
Once people it found have been contacted, the row also shows how many replied.
04Smart lead finder
At the bottom of Edit signals, Smart lead finder is a switch that looks further for warm leads when your signals bring in few. It's a switch per agent.
05Limits
An agent watches up to 15 signals. To add another when it's full, remove one first (buying events and your brand are unticked instead). Every person a signal surfaces goes through the same check against your buyer. See Your buyer, and how the fit check works.
